On June 30, 2021, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rolled out STIR/SHAKEN (short for Secure Telephone Identity Revisited/Signature-based Handling of Asserted information using toKENs) to curtail caller ID spoofing, a tactic scammers employ to conceal who they are and steal from people.

Several months have passed since the implementation deadline for major carriers (small carriers still have until June 30, 2022), so we took a deep dive into how the framework is holding up. Is it slowing the rate of spam calls utilizing spoofed caller IDs? Are scammers finding ways around these newly-designed roadblocks? What's next in the ongoing fight to end phone spam for good?

Our report has the answers to all of these questions and more. You can download it for free here.
